MINT potential in Switzerland

Compared with other countries, Swiss adolescents, particularly young women, have high MINT potential. This conclusion emerged from a study based on PISA data. Despite regional differences in the education system, MINT potential in all Swiss cantons is high.


2018 Education Report

The 2018 Swiss Education Report provides data and information from statistics, research and the administration covering around 500 topics within the entire education system. According to the report, two of the greatest challenges currently facing the education system are migration and digitization.


#digitale21: Retrospective

At the #digitale21 in April in Lugano, representatives from business, science and education discussed the effects of digitization on training, teaching and work. It resulted in ten recommendations from the Swiss Academies that summarized the findings of the symposium.


Save the Date: Symposium on ICT and Education

This year's symposium takes place on 8 November 2018 as part of Swissdidac at the Bernexpo. The central theme of this year's symposium is data policy in the education system. The programme and further information will follow in the course of the summer.

EU Report: Digital Education Policies in Europe and Beyond

This report offers policy-makers in digital education evidence on how policies can be designed and implemented to foster digital-age learning. The report formulates eight core-guiding principles, which can serve as a reference point for the design and implementation of digital education policies.


Data protection game

Developed by Canada’s Center for Digital and Media Literacy, the game Data Defenders gives young people an introduction to management and protection of their personal data on websites and in apps. It is available in French and English and accompanied by a guideline for teachers.
