The launch of ETINCEL

A new platform called ETINCEL, which will offer free resources in French, is already accessible in Beta version. The platform is co-constructed with industry, for general and vocational education. The platform is currently being tested and will be officially opened in the spring of 2019.

The fourth STEM Discovery Week is held 22 to 28 April 2019. This initiative and many more are all compiled in a new flyer published by Scientix. With the help of this new flyer it is now much easier for educators to find activities that fit their school programmes and their areas of interest.

Digital Day 2018

How is digitization changing our world view? How does it influence our everyday lives? On 25 October, at 12 locations in Switzerland, our second Digital Day will bring the topic of digitization to life. Topics range from Education. Work 4.0, data, health and mobility through to media and news.

STEM potential in Switzerland

Compared with other countries, Swiss adolescents, particularly young women, have high STEM potential. This conclusion emerged from a study based on PISA data. Despite regional differences in the education system, STEM potential in all Swiss cantons is high.

Science on Stage Switzerland

MINT teachers from all levels can submit educational school projects to the national competition. The four best projects will be invited to participate at the Science on Stage Europe festival to be held in Portugal in autumn 2019. The closing date for entries is 30 September 2018.

Switzerland suffers a shortage of specialists in the fields of technology and information. This report (in German) by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences published in December 2017 gives an overview and an analysis of extracurricular offers in this area as well as recommendations for action.

GirlsCoding: Yes, we can!

GirlsCoding was created at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne by a group of graduate students. Their goal is to motivate kids -- and especially girls – for computer science. Workshops initiate 9–12 years old kids in interconnected unplugged activities and coding exercises.
