Summer School on the Internet of Things
For the third year running, the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) organizes an English spoken Summer School from 4th to 15th September in Manno, Ticino. This year's event focusses on the topic « The Internet of Things and the Smart Home».

The Federal Council defined high-level goals for a Swiss data policy as an integral component of the «Digital Switzerland» Strategy. Among other goals it is concerned with the creation of a legal framework for handling data and opening up of data sets as raw material for the digital society.
Gaming against the debt trap
The teacher associations from German and French speaking Switzerland, LCH and SER, together with the Swiss cantonal banks have created a serious game to encourage finance competency in young people. The online game helps them in a ludic way to understand the principles of economy.
Federal Council wants to set up framework for E-ID
Online business is based on trust. The Federal Council wants to create a legal and organisational framework as a trustworthy basis for the recognition of electronic identifiers and their providers. He has therefore opened the consultation on a Federal Act on digital identities.
European Trend Day
On 15 March 2017, the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute invites to the European Trend Day on «Reinventing Places: Life between Cloud and Location». National and international experts discuss the changes our physical surroundings undergo by virtual parallel worlds and the consequences for our society.

During this year's Worldwebforum in Zurich, the Digital Manifesto Switzerland has been introduced. The Manifesto sets up propositions as to how digitalisation could impact Switzerland and measures to cope with the digital transformation in all fields of daily life, including education.
