Terms of admission
Enrolment at a specialised middle school occurs after compulsory education. The terms of admission are regulated by the cantons. Depending on the canton, admission tests are carried out – either as a general rule, or when a certain level of performance has not been reached at lower secondary level – otherwise, admission interviews are held; additional requirements may also be set. Admission can also be granted without examination. The prerequisite for admission to specialised matura education is a specialised middle school certificate.
