A total of 18,571 students attended a college of higher vocational education and training in 2007 / 2008 (52.3% women, 10.7% foreign students). A total of 13,073 individuals prepared for a federal PET diploma examination (42.7% women, 16.4% foreign students) and 4229 individuals prepared for an advanced federal PET diploma examination (34.4% women, 16.2% foreign students). In 2007, a total of 11,723 individuals passed a federal PET diploma examination, 2563 passed an advanced federal PET diploma examination and 4186 graduated from a college of higher vocational education and training.
