Developments

Specialised middle school education is an extension of diploma middle school education, which it has replaced since summer 2004. The specialised middle schools' approval procedures are now completed. The introduction of specialised matura education has been initiated in various cantons. The Regulations on the Recognition of Certificates from Specialised Middle Schools were partly revised in 2007. The changes affect the following aspects (among others): in individual articles, the requirements of the specialised matura in the various vocational fields have now been clarified; specialised middle school education and specialised matura education can also be completed at recognised full-time or part-time schools for adults; the specialised middle school certificate can be obtained in 1 (or now 2) vocational fields and also in 2 languages (certificat bilingue).
