National awareness campaign against cyber-bullying

Social networks can do more to protect minors' privacy

Only two out of nine social networking sites have default settings which make minors' personal profiles accessible only to their approved list of contacts according to tests undertaken for the European Commission. Seven sites responded to requests for help, a majority in less than a day.

The Federal Police Office has registered a significant increase in the number of suspected violations of the law on hardcore pornography on the internet in 2010. According to Fedpol this is due to the increase in Web 2.0 applications available to the public, with quicker access and more anonymity.
