By the title of «Agora» the Swiss National Science Foundation is going to finance 14 projects on science communication in 2013. Researchers will invite children and young people, professionals and the general public to discuss subjects like voices, fear and everyday life in prehistoric times.

Much as the rest of the world, Swiss universities find themselves locked in the hype of MOOCs which have been spreading from the United States all over the world. The Lausanne based EPFL has been one of the first to offer a course in Scala computer programming to which 53,000 students signed up.

Federal institutes improve global rankings

7 Swiss universities have been ranked in the world’s top 200 by British THE ranking. The Federal Institutes of Technology in Zurich and Lausanne are the best performing European universities outside of Great Britain. Indicators are teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

New brochure on "Studying in Switzerland"
