Universities: What is taught?
 
The ten cantonal universities and the two Federal Institutes of Technology (ETH) correspond to the classical image of a European university. They are active in teaching and research and generally offer a wide range of studies within the faculties of Law, Economics and Social Science, Medicine, Natural and Human Science.
 
Fields of study
There is specialisation and concentration for different fields of study:
 
Bullet pointMedical faculties exist at the Universities of Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich (Freiburg and Neuchâtel only offer the propadetic courses).
