The conditions of admission lie within the individual cantons. With good grades, the transition from the primary schools or the lower secondary level to the Matura school is achieved without an entry exam (past results, evaluations by teachers of the primary level or the lower secondary level) in more than 50% of the cantons.

 

Probationary period
In other cantons, an additional written and oral exam is carried out. Basis subjects are tested in these cases. The first semester of the Matura school is a probationary period.
