At the end of the primary level, the pupils are not awarded a graduation certificate. All pupils continue with their education at the lower secondary level, where teaching is realised at different performance levels.



Performance at the end of the primary level, teachers' recommendations (often with the inclusion of the parents or guardians), and in some cases an admission examination, determine the particular performance level to which the pupil is allocated on the lower secondary level.
