Matura schools in figures
 
The number of pupils at Matura schools has risen in the last ten years. More than 54,000 pupils attended a Matura school in 1990, by 2003 the number had risen to around 63,400. The ratio of female pupils at Matura schools has increased. Since the school year of 1993/1994, there have been more girls than boys attending Matura schools. The number of girls amounted to 56% in the school year of 2003/2004.
